You spread the news of wounded Gaza
You did not remain silent about the crimes that shattered our hearts
The cries of our children, the groans of grieving mothers
Reached you, and you became our voice in the crises
I am Samia, heavy sorrow has consumed my heart
When Samar was martyred, I searched in those dark nights for safety
My sister, her daughters, and her husband were killed in cold blood
My heart writhes in pain
But you were here, beside this heart at all times
You surrounded me with warmth despite all the hardships
I don't know you, and you don't know me
But your love felt like family in a time of nothingness
You were the support
You became a family to me
Despite the distance, you were close
You made me feel like I was your daughter, in a time full of sorrow
Thank you, Ireland, symbol of giving
You who supported us in the peak of affliction
Your love healed our wounds, and it was the light for me and many Palestinians
In a long night, devoid of safety.
